Mobalco. The story so far.
In 2022, our partner company, POLYMEC, kept coming up against a persistent problem.
They had great success sourcing and supplying in-demand workers for projects located all over WA, but… It was getting harder and harder to find them suitable accommodation.
At its core, POLYMEC is a problem-solving business. So they formed a dedicated team with a sole focus:

Small team, big ideas.
Initially, the team considered renting industrial caravans for workers to take with them on remote assignments.
But research into mobile worksite facilities revealed:
many established industrial caravan suppliers had lead times and growing waitlists that exceeded 12 months
while mining camps were a huge market – they also put a huge pressure on supply for smaller businesses
setting up a fixed camp for short-term projects was costly, slowed projects down and impacted the environment
as well as mobile accommodation, there was demand for other mobile facilities like site offices, crib rooms, laundries and ablution blocks
exploration, drilling or maintenance businesses often needed to mobilise, set up and relocate their teams rapidly
it was more cost-effective and efficient for these businesses to purchase their own mobile site facilities – not rent them
A bigger, more long-term solution was needed.
That’s when the idea for Mobalco took shape…
We already understood the challenges of attracting and retaining workers for projects in remote locations.
Plus, as a young, local business, Mobalco could focus on being flexible and responsive, and delivering shorter lead times for our products.
We expanded Mobalco’s Malaga-based team to include a designer, an engineer and a range of qualified trades.
Then started making plans to design, engineer and manufacture mobile site facilities here in WA.
Our first TI-TO sleepers went to market in mid-2023.
